How to Convert PDF to CSV Online

Getting the numbers out of a PDF and into a spreadsheet is a classic headache — copy-pasting a table usually turns it into one useless column. This PDF to CSV converter reads where every value sits on the page, works out the rows and columns, and rebuilds them as a clean CSV you can open straight in Excel or Google Sheets. It all runs in your browser, so even financial documents stay private.

1

Add your PDF

Drop in a PDF with a table. It's read locally in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

2

Pick delimiter & pages

Choose comma, semicolon or tab, limit to certain pages if you want, then press Extract.

3

Preview & download

Check the detected table, then copy it or download a .csv ready for your spreadsheet app.

How Column Detection Works

A PDF stores each piece of text at an exact position on the page, but it has no idea what a "table" or a "column" is. This converter reconstructs that structure: it groups pieces of text that share the same line into rows, then looks at the horizontal position where each value starts and clusters those positions into columns.

Every value is then placed in the column nearest to its position, producing a clean grid that becomes your CSV. This works best on clear, grid-style tables — statements, price lists, reports and exports. Very complex layouts, merged cells or tables with no consistent alignment can come out imperfect, so it's always worth a quick look at the preview before you download.

If your PDF is a scan (an image of a page), there is no real text to read, so nothing can be extracted — you'd need an OCR tool for that. This converter will tell you clearly when a PDF appears to be scanned.

Why Convert PDF to CSV

Analyse in a spreadsheet

Get PDF data into Excel or Google Sheets so you can sort, filter, chart and run formulas on it.

Stop retyping tables

Skip the error-prone job of copying numbers by hand from a PDF statement or report.

Import into other tools

CSV is the universal format for importing data into databases, accounting apps and scripts.

Clean up messy exports

Turn a locked-down PDF export back into editable rows and columns you can actually work with.

Lightweight & universal

A CSV is tiny and opens in virtually every spreadsheet and data tool ever made.

Private by design

Because it runs in your browser, financial and personal tables are never uploaded anywhere.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I convert a PDF to CSV for free?

Drop your PDF above, choose a delimiter, and press Extract. Preview the detected table, then copy it or download a .csv — free, no signup, no watermark.

Will it detect the columns correctly?

For clear grid-style tables it detects rows and columns automatically and accurately. Very complex or merged-cell layouts can come out imperfect, so always check the preview before downloading.

Which apps can open the CSV?

Any spreadsheet or data tool — Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Apple Numbers, LibreOffice Calc — plus databases and scripts. A byte-order mark is added so accented characters show correctly in Excel.

Can I choose the delimiter?

Yes. Pick comma, semicolon or tab. Semicolon is handy in regions where the comma is used as a decimal separator.

Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?

No. The whole extraction runs inside your browser, so your document never leaves your device — safe for financial and confidential files.

Why did I get no data from my PDF?

Your PDF is most likely a scan or photo of a page, which stores an image rather than real text. There is nothing to extract from an image — you would need an OCR tool.

Can I convert specific pages only?

Yes. Leave the Pages box as 'all', or list pages like 1-3, 5. Only those pages are processed.

Does it work on phones and tablets?

Yes. It runs in any modern browser on Windows, Mac, Android or iPhone with nothing to install.

Is this PDF to CSV converter really free?

Completely free, forever — no account, no watermark, no daily cap and no premium wall.
