About FlipMyFormat

FlipMyFormat is a free online toolkit for converting, compressing and editing files. We launched in 2026 with a simple conviction: converting a file should not require handing your private documents to a stranger's server.

Why we built this

Nearly every file converter on the internet works by uploading your file to a remote server. Your passport scan, your salary slip, your family photos, your company's draft contract — all of it sits on someone else's hard drive, governed by a privacy policy you never read and a security posture you cannot verify.

We thought that was a bad deal, especially when modern browsers are powerful enough to do the work themselves. So we built FlipMyFormat around browser-based processing: for our image tools, your file is read, converted and saved entirely on your own device using canvas and WebAssembly technology. Nothing is uploaded. Nothing is stored. Nothing is transmitted.

You can verify this yourself: load any of our image tools, disconnect your internet, and convert a file. It still works — because the conversion never needed our servers in the first place.

What we offer

FlipMyFormat currently offers image conversion, compression and resizing tools covering JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC formats, with more categories being added continuously. Every tool is free, supports batch processing, and works without signup, watermarks, daily limits or premium walls.

We are building toward a complete toolkit of 245+ tools across PDF, documents, spreadsheets, ebooks and data formats. Tools that can safely run in your browser always will; tools that genuinely require server processing will say so clearly on the page, and files will be auto-deleted within one hour.

How we sustain this

FlipMyFormat is free and intends to stay free for core tools. Because browser-based conversion costs us nothing per file, we can afford to be generous where server-based competitors cannot. We may introduce optional paid features for heavy professional workloads in future, but the tools you use today will not be taken away or put behind a wall.

Standards we hold ourselves to

• No file uploads for tools that advertise browser-based processing — we do not make privacy claims we cannot keep.
• No watermarks, ever, on any output.
• No signup required to use a tool.
• No dark patterns: no bait-and-switch premium walls after you have already uploaded your work.
• Honest technical explanations, including when a conversion cannot do what you might hope (for example, no tool can restore detail a lossy format already discarded).
