How to convert Excel to JPG online free
To turn a spreadsheet into pictures, add your workbook to the box above, pick a size and a layout, and press Convert to JPG. Every sheet becomes a clean image of your table, ready to send, post, print or paste into a slide. You can add several workbooks and convert them in one go.
This is the easy way to convert Excel to JPG online free. There is no sign-up and no watermark. You choose the size, the format (JPG, PNG or WebP), whether each sheet fits on one picture, and whether to show gridlines. The white space around the table is trimmed away for you.
- 1
Add your workbook
Tap Select Excel files, drop the files on the box or paste them with Ctrl+V. XLSX, XLS, XLSB, XLSM, ODS, CSV, TSV and Numbers files work.
- 2
Pick size and format
Choose High quality (200 DPI) for most uses, Print (300 DPI) for paper, or 1080 px wide for chats and posts. Then pick JPG, PNG or WebP.
- 3
Choose the layout
Keep Each sheet as one image for a single picture per sheet, or pick Fit columns, split long sheets for very long tables.
- 4
Convert and download
Press Convert to JPG. Check the previews, save one image, or download all of them in one ZIP.
The defaults suit most sheets: JPG at 200 DPI, each sheet as one image, white edges trimmed and gridlines shown. Add the file, press Convert, done.
Why turn an Excel sheet to image?
A spreadsheet is great for working with numbers, but it is a poor way to show them. The person you send it to may not have Excel, may open it on a phone where the columns run off the screen, or may change a cell by accident. Turning an Excel sheet to image fixes all of that. A picture opens instantly on any device and looks exactly the same everywhere.
Images also go places a workbook cannot. Chat apps, social networks, website editors, slide decks and many upload forms accept a JPG or PNG but not an XLSX file. A picture of a price list, a timetable, a sales summary or a results table can be posted, pasted or printed in seconds, and nobody can see the formulas or hidden data behind it.
It is also a quick way to take a clean snapshot. A screenshot catches only what fits on your screen, along with toolbars and scroll bars. This tool lays out the whole sheet the way Excel would print it, so you get every row and column in one neat picture.
Which settings should I use?
Size: High quality (200 DPI)
The default. Crisp numbers for reports and chats, with files that are still easy to send.
Size: Screen (150 DPI)
Sharp on phones and laptops, with the smallest files.
Size: Print (300 DPI)
For printing on paper, or when you want to zoom in on small text.
Size: 1080 px or 2000 px wide
A fixed width in pixels. 1080 px suits WhatsApp, Instagram and LinkedIn; 2000 px suits websites, slides and Canva.
Format: JPG, PNG or WebP
JPG opens everywhere. PNG is lossless, so text and lines stay perfectly sharp. WebP gives small files for websites.
Layout
Each sheet as one image puts a whole sheet on one picture. Fit columns, split long sheets keeps all columns readable and continues long tables on more pictures.
Edges
Trim the white space around the table is on by default. Gridlines can be shown, hidden, or left as set in the file.
More options
JPG and WebP quality (92 percent by default), row numbers and column letters, and an optional format suffix in the file names.
Get your sheet ready first
A few minutes of tidying makes a big difference to the picture. The tool shows your sheet the way it would print, so anything that would look odd on paper will look odd in the image too.
Widen any column that shows #### instead of a number. That sign means the value does not fit, and it will appear in the image exactly like that. Wrap long text in cells, or widen the column, so labels are not cut off.
Delete stray content far away from your table, such as a note in cell Z200 or an old test value. The used area of the sheet runs up to the last filled cell, so one forgotten entry can make the table shrink to a small corner of the picture.
If a workbook has sheets you do not want as pictures, save a copy, delete those sheets from the copy, and convert the copy. Every sheet that has content becomes an image, so removing the extra ones keeps your download clean.
Excel to JPG high quality: 150, 200 or 300 DPI
For Excel to JPG high quality, the setting that matters is the size. The sheet is laid out as a page, and the size decides how many pixels each inch of that page gets. 150 DPI is sharp on any screen. 200 DPI, the default, keeps small numbers crisp when people zoom in. 300 DPI is print quality.
The table below shows the width of a full A4 page at each size. Because the white margins are trimmed, your image is usually narrower than this: it is as wide as your table plus a thin border. The exact pixel size of every image is shown under its preview, so you can check it before you download.
| Size | Image width | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Screen (150 DPI) | About 1240 px wide | Phones, laptops, email |
| High quality (200 DPI) | About 1654 px wide | Reports and chats (default) |
| Print (300 DPI) | About 2480 px wide | Printing, zooming in |
| 1080 px wide | 1080 px wide | WhatsApp, Instagram, LinkedIn |
| 2000 px wide | 2000 px wide | Websites, slides, Canva |
JPG quality is set to 92 percent by default, which looks the same as the sheet while keeping files small. You can raise it to 100 percent under More options, or pick PNG for images with no compression at all.
Excel to PNG high resolution: JPG, PNG or WebP
Choose PNG when you want Excel to PNG high resolution with no blur at all. PNG is lossless: thin borders, small digits and coloured cells stay exactly as they were drawn, with no soft edges around the text. It is the best choice for slides, documents, printing and anything you will zoom into.
| Format | File size | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| JPG | Small | Chats, email, upload forms, anywhere |
| PNG (lossless) | Larger | Slides, documents, print, zooming in |
| WebP | Smallest | Websites and online shops |
For the sharpest result, combine PNG with Print (300 DPI) or 2000 px wide. PNG files are larger than JPG, often two to five times larger for a busy table, so for chats and email JPG is usually the better pick. WebP sits in between: small like JPG, and very clean on websites.
Excel to JPG one page: each sheet as one image
Most people want Excel to JPG one page: one picture for one sheet. That is the default layout, called Each sheet as one image. The whole used area of the sheet is scaled to fit on a single page, and that page becomes a single picture. A workbook with three sheets gives three images, named after the file and the page number.
The other layout is Fit columns, split long sheets. Here all columns are fitted to the width of the page, and long sheets continue on more pictures, the way a printout runs onto page two and three. Use it for long lists with hundreds of rows, where squeezing everything onto one picture would make the text too small to read.
| Layout | Pictures | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Each sheet as one image | One picture per sheet | Tables, dashboards, summaries, charts |
| Fit columns, split long sheets | One or more pictures per sheet | Long lists, ledgers, records with many rows |
Be aware of one limit. A very wide or very long sheet squeezed onto one picture can end up with tiny text. If that happens, switch to Fit columns, split long sheets, or choose a larger size such as Print (300 DPI) so there are more pixels to work with.
Excel table to image: trim, gridlines and headings
To save an Excel table to image cleanly, the tool removes the white space around it. A printed page has margins and often empty space below a short table. With Trim the white space around the table switched on, which is the default, everything that is not white is kept, plus a thin even border, and the rest is cut away.
Gridlines are the light lines between cells. Choose Show to draw them, Hide for a clean look where only your own borders appear, or As in the file to follow the print setting saved in the workbook. Tables with their own borders often look best with gridlines hidden.
Under More options you can also turn on Show row numbers and column letters. That adds the 1, 2, 3 and A, B, C headings around the sheet, which helps when you are explaining a formula or pointing someone to a cell.
Excel chart to JPG: charts, colours and fonts
An Excel chart to JPG conversion works the same way as a table. Charts placed on a sheet are drawn into the image along with the cells around them, and chart sheets become their own picture. Colours, cell fills, borders, number formats and fonts are kept as LibreOffice renders them, which matches Excel closely for most workbooks.
If you only want the chart, move it to its own sheet or to an empty area, then convert: the trim step cuts the picture down to the chart itself. For a chart that will be printed or zoomed, choose PNG and Print (300 DPI) so lines and labels stay sharp.
A few things can look slightly different from Excel. Fonts that are not installed on our server are replaced with a similar font, and some newer chart types or effects may be drawn in a simpler way. Macros do not run, so anything a macro would fill in or draw will not appear.
Excel to JPG for WhatsApp, email and social posts
For Excel to JPG for WhatsApp, choose the 1080 px wide size and JPG. The picture fits a phone screen, and the file stays small enough to send in a moment. Most people can read a table at that width without zooming, as long as the sheet is not too wide.
The same size works for Instagram and LinkedIn posts. For email, Screen (150 DPI) keeps attachments small. If your table has many columns, use Fit columns, split long sheets and send two or three pictures rather than one tiny one.
On a phone, open this page in Chrome or Safari, tap Select Excel files and pick the workbook from your files, Google Drive or iCloud. After converting, save the images and share them from your gallery.
Common uses
Sharing in chats
Send a price list, a duty roster or a score table as a picture in WhatsApp, Telegram or Messages, where it opens without any app.
Reports and slides
Paste a summary table or a chart into PowerPoint, Google Slides, Word or Canva as a crisp PNG that will not shift or reflow.
Social media posts
Post monthly results, a league table or a sales chart on LinkedIn, Instagram or Facebook using the 1080 px wide size.
Websites and shops
Show a size chart, a timetable or a rate card on your site as a light WebP image instead of a download link.
Printing
Print a table at 300 DPI with the white margins trimmed, so it fills the paper instead of floating in a corner.
Upload forms
Some forms want a picture of a marksheet, a budget or a schedule. Make a JPG at 150 DPI and upload it like a photo.
Class and team updates
Teachers share marks and timetables, and team leads share weekly numbers, as one picture everyone can open on the bus.
Invoices and quotes
Send a quick picture of a quote or a bill made in a spreadsheet when the other person just needs to see the totals.
XLSX to JPG online, plus XLS, ODS, CSV and Numbers
This is a simple way to convert XLSX to JPG online, and it is not limited to XLSX. It also reads XLSM workbooks with macros, older XLS files from Excel 97 to 2003, binary XLSB files, ODS files from LibreOffice and OpenOffice, CSV and TSV text files, and Apple Numbers files.
| File type | What it is |
|---|---|
| XLSX, XLSM | Excel 2007 and newer, with or without macros |
| XLS, XLSB | Older Excel files and binary workbooks |
| ODS | LibreOffice Calc and OpenOffice |
| CSV, TSV | Plain text tables, shown as a simple grid |
| Numbers | Apple Numbers spreadsheets |
A CSV file has no colours or borders, so it comes out as a plain grid. To style it first, turn it into a workbook with CSV to Excel, add your formatting, and convert that. You can add up to 20 files at a time, each up to 50 MB.
Other ways on Windows, Mac and phones
You can also make a picture of a sheet with tools you already have. Here is how, and when this page is the better choice.
Windows: Copy as Picture
In Excel, select the cells, open the Copy menu on the Home tab and pick Copy as Picture. Paste into Paint and save as JPG or PNG. It works for one range at a time.
Windows: Snipping Tool
Press Windows + Shift + S and drag over the table. You only get what is on screen, at screen resolution.
Mac: screenshot
Press Cmd + Shift + 4 and drag over the table. The picture lands on your desktop as a PNG, again limited to what fits on screen.
Phone: screenshot
Open the sheet in an app and take a screenshot. Wide tables are hard to fit, and the text is often too small to read.
These tricks are fine for a quick look at a few cells. When you want whole sheets, several workbooks at once, a set size such as 300 DPI or 1080 px, trimmed edges or no Excel at all, this page saves a lot of time.
Excel to JPG converter free: no sign-up, no watermark
This is an Excel to JPG converter free to use as often as you like. There is no sign-up, no watermark on your images, and no daily limit. You do not need Excel installed either: the layout is done on our server, so it works on a Chromebook, a phone or any computer with a browser.
Your settings are remembered in your browser for next time, so if you always convert to PNG at 300 DPI, you only set it once.
You can also use the keyboard. Paste files with Ctrl+V, and start the conversion with Ctrl+Enter. The images appear in a preview grid with the pixel size of each one, so you can check them before you save anything.
Many workbooks at once
You can add up to 20 workbooks at once. They are converted one after another, and the progress bar shows which file and which page is being worked on. You can press Stop at any time.
When there are several images, they come together in one ZIP. If you converted more than one workbook, each workbook with more than one image gets its own folder inside the ZIP, so the pictures stay sorted. Single images can also be saved one by one from the preview grid.
Password-protected workbooks
If a workbook is protected with a password to open, the tool tells you and shows a password box on the file's row. Type the password and press Convert again. If the password is wrong, you are told so and can try again.
Sheet protection, the kind that only stops editing, does not get in the way. Those workbooks convert without asking for anything.
Is it safe? What happens to your file
To lay out a spreadsheet exactly like a printout, a full office engine is needed, and that does not run in a browser. So your workbook is sent over an encrypted connection to our server, where LibreOffice lays it out as pages. That is the same engine and the same step our Excel to PDF tool uses.
As soon as the pages are ready, your browser fetches them and the job is deleted from our server. The images themselves are drawn in your browser, on your own device, and they are never uploaded. We do not keep your files or look at them.
If the server is busy, your file waits for a free slot for a moment, and the progress line says so. Each file is handled as its own job.
How it works
Step one happens on our server. LibreOffice opens your workbook, applies the layout you picked (each sheet on one page, or columns fitted to the width), adds or hides gridlines and headings, and lays the sheets out as pages, just like printing. This is the same layout step used to make a PDF, so the result looks like a careful printout of your sheet.
Step two happens in your browser. Each page is drawn as an image at the size you chose, the white space around the table is trimmed, and the picture is saved as JPG, PNG or WebP. The previews, the single downloads and the ZIP are all made on your device.
Image, screenshot or PDF: which to use
There are a few ways to get a picture of a spreadsheet. Here is how they compare.
| What to check | This tool | Screenshot | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Whole sheet, every row and column | Yes | Only what fits on screen | Yes |
| Opens on any phone instantly | Yes | Yes | Needs a PDF viewer |
| Choose the exact size | 150, 200, 300 DPI, 1080 or 2000 px | Screen size only | Not an image |
| White space trimmed | Yes, automatic | Crop by hand | No |
| Post in chats and on social media | Yes | Yes | Often not accepted |
| Toolbars and scroll bars in the picture | No | Often | No |
Common problems and fixes
The text is too small
The sheet is wide or long. Pick Fit columns, split long sheets, or a larger size such as Print (300 DPI).
The image looks blurry when I zoom
Choose Print (300 DPI) or 2000 px wide, and PNG instead of JPG.
The files are too big
Choose Screen (150 DPI) or 1080 px wide, use JPG or WebP, or lower the quality under More options.
There is still white space around the table
Some browsers block reading pixels from a canvas for privacy, and then trimming is skipped. Try another browser, or use Crop Image afterwards.
The file asks for a password
Type it in the box on the file's row and press Convert again.
A font looks different
A font that is not on our server is replaced with a similar one. Common fonts usually get a close match of the same width, so the layout stays the same.
Something filled by a macro is missing
Macros do not run. Run the macro in Excel, save the workbook, and convert it again.
Some numbers show as ####
The column is too narrow for the value. Widen it in your spreadsheet, save, and convert again.
The table sits small in a big white area
Usually a stray value far from the table. Delete it, or keep trimming switched on, which cuts the empty space away.
It says the file is a PDF
This page is for spreadsheets. For a PDF, use PDF to JPG instead.
The file took too long
Very large workbooks can hit the time limit. Delete sheets you do not need, or split the workbook, and try again.
Tips for the best images
Tidy the sheet before you convert. Hide helper columns, delete empty rows at the bottom and set column widths so nothing shows as ####. What you see when you print is what you get in the image.
Pick the size for where the picture is going: 1080 px wide for chats and posts, 200 DPI for reports, 300 DPI for print. Bigger is not always better, because the files grow quickly.
Hide gridlines when your table already has borders. It looks cleaner and more like a designed table.
Keep the workbook. The pictures are new files, so you can convert again at another size whenever you need to. For a document that stays searchable, use Excel to PDF instead.
What to do with your images next
Images too large for an upload form or an email? Make them smaller with Compress Image. Want to cut a picture down to one part of the table? Use Crop Image.
Have a Word document or a slide deck to turn into pictures as well? Use Word to JPG or PPT to JPG. For a PDF that someone sent you, PDF to JPG does the same job, and PDF to Excel turns a PDF table back into an editable sheet.
